Project
Name
Inteligência Artificial para Cuidados de Saúde Personalizados ao Longo da Vida
Description
The SmartHealth project aims to create new, intelligent and efficient technologies to support the different phases of medical treatment, namely in prevention, diagnosis, surgical treatment, rehabilitation and patient monitoring. To this end, we propose three lines of research (RL): (RL1) Intelligent digitalization; (RL2) Intelligent systems; and (RL3) Human-AI collaboration. While RL1 will focus on developing a system to efficiently store and share clinical information from different sources (e.g. paper clinical reports, scans, among others), RL2 will develop AI tools that can automatically and autonomously improve specific medical processes, such as intelligent virtual assistance or improved medical treatments. Finally, RL3 will explore the potential of collaboration between humans and intelligent agents in various medical treatments. In this way, intuitive interfaces and external sensors will be embedded in collaborative robotic systems, facilitating their handling during the intervention and, ultimately, improving current medical procedures.
SmartHealth intends to create new efficient and intelligent technologies to support different stages of the medical treatment, namely the prevention, diagnosis, surgical treatment, rehabilitation and patient follow-up.
