GECAD participated in the 10th Saudi Arabia Smart Grid Conference (SASG2022) during 12-14 December 2022. The conference was hosted in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, supported by IEEE PES, and sponsored by strong industry leaders, including Saudi Aramco, Alfanar, Siemens, China State Grid Corp, Hitachi, Schneider, Huawey, etc. The conference was covered by the international Arabic TV news channel Al Arabiya and social networks.

Dr. João Soares, talked during the panel Regulations and Future Trends in Smart Grid, presenting recent research results. He overviewed a system that uses machine learning techniques and artificial neural networks to estimate potential demand levels and reduce uncertainties and costs combined with robust optimization. SASG was also an opportunity to increase our relationship with the middle east, companies, students, and professors.
