One of our researchers, Prof. Joao Soares from GECAD/ISEP visited Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF) in Minas Gerais, Brazil, from August 28 to 31, 2024. He has participated as a Plenary Speaker in the Energy Transition event organized by INERGE with a lecture entitlled “Renewable Energy Communities: concepts and distribution of benefits”.

João Soares was welcomed by Prof. Bruno Henriques Dias and Prof. Leonardo Willer, responsible of the RIBIERSE-CYTED newtork in UFJF.

In summary during the stay, several activities  took place, including:

• Presentation of the facilities and laboratories of UFJF, available for research.
• Discussion about cooperation, particularly regarding doctoral students joint supervision.
• Presentation of research lines and ongoing projects, conducted by Professor Bruno Henriques Dias.
• Participation in the INERGE International Conference on Electric Energy (IINCEE 2024), which took place at UFJF during the same period as a Plenary Speaker.

We are grateful for the welcoming of Prof. Soares by UFJF and INERGE. The visit certaintly contributes to strengthen our academic and research ties between the institutions, promoting the exchange of knowledge and experiences in the fields of engineering and renewable energy.
