Intelligent Buildings and electricity consumers laboratory
Commercially available and GECAD’s designed components are used as building blocks resulting in a flexible, scalable, and evolving platform used to intensively test and validate GECAD and third-party’s proposed models. One campus building is used as a living lab for test and validation of innovative solutions for energy management and physical security. The building rooms, including a fully equipped kitchen, batteries, photovoltaic panels (12 kWp), wind turbine, and appliances (lighting, electric window shades, air conditioning, water heater, dish washer, refrigerator, microwave, etc.) are used as part of the platform. Moreover, GECAD has designed and implemented physical models for emulation of apartments, aggregators, and energy communities as well as physical models for electric lines, and photovoltaic-based energy generation. Semantic models are also implemented in this laboratory infraestruture for interoperability.
