GECAD Energy Day

Last Wednesday, May 24, GECAD organized an event “GECAD Energy Day” which counted with the participation of researchers and students locally and online. This event served as a platform for the dissemination of scientific contributions and breakthroughs in the field of power and energy systems, namely MUWO, F4iTECH, PRECISE, TradeRES and RETINA and CAPES projects. With around 100 participants in attendance, the event proved to be a vibrant gathering of industry experts, researchers, and academics from various disciplines. It was a fantastic opportunity to share our research findings, exchange ideas, and collaborate with fellow experts in the power and energy sector.

The day started with Prof. Zita Vale, the leader of GECAD energy group, opening the ceremony, and continued with several sessions until the evening, allowing researchers to present their scientific contributions through paper presentations. These sessions covered a wide range of topics, including smart industry and smart grids, electricity markets, AI models for smart grids including a dedicated session for evolutionary computation.

The event counted with coffee breaks networking and culminated with Prof. Zita Vale expressing gratitude to the organizers and to all the participants for their active involvement and sharing their vision for the future of power and energy systems.

We are thrilled with the success of GECAD Energy Day. The enthusiasm and engagement shown by the participants reaffirm the significance of disseminating scientific contributions to advance power and energy systems. We hope this event serves as a catalyst for further research collaborations and transformative developments.
